During the dry season I knew many animals were navigating through a dried up river gorge, by looking at their footprints in the soft shingle. I also knew my camera would be safe from being washed away as there wasn't any rain forecast in the immediate future. Here a striped hyena is making its way through the gullies between the rock faces that line either side of the river.
